Kneading: Use your thumb and fingers to hold a group of muscles in a squeeze and release motion as if you are making dough. |
The motion should be slow and steady. This is a basic skill. |

Rolling: Use the edge of the palm to apply pressure. |
Can cover large areas. |

Rubbing: Use the palm to cover the area to be massaged and apply continuous pressure. |
Can cover long stretches of area such as on the back of the legs and arms. |

Chopping: Fingers slightly spread out- both pinkie fingers chop on the muscles. |
A stronger stimulation. |
